DVD-Track #5 – Center Court

Schon mal Tennis gespielt? Sicherlich nicht gegen einen Henseleit Three Dee MP-XL E! Boris Matuschka nahm die Herausforderung an und entdeckte schnell, dass es aufgrund des Pokerfaces der Maschine praktisch unmöglich war, die Flugbahn des Balls vorherzusehen. Und noch eine Erkenntnis reifte bedrohlich schnell: Wenn der Ball kommt, dann kommt er verdammt schnell!

Ever played tennis? Well, certainly not against a Henseleit Three Dee MP-XL E! Boris Matuschka took on the challenge and found out that due to the poker face of the heli it was nearly impossible to predict in which direction the ball would go. And there was something else he discovered: When it comes, it comes damn fast!

Dies ist Steven-V – bereit für ein hartes, aber faires Tennismatch der besonderen Art! J This is Steven-V – ready to rock and roll in a new class of tennis match! Steven-V hatte – wie alle anderen auch – sichtlich Spaß an der Sache und freute sich über jeden Punkt. Steven-V is happy about another point! The whole action was great fun for everybody involved. You'll certainly like it, too!

DVD-Track #6 – The Pylon Madness

Die Masten von 380 kV-Hochspannungsleitungen haben ein paar Meter über Grund meist rautenförmige Löcher. Die maximalen Ausmaße für Durchflüge mit einem R/C-Hubschrauber sind ganz brauchbar – aber eben nur, wenn man genau die Mitte trifft!

Nicolas Kaiser und Tobias "2f2f" Wagner haben sich für eine wahrlich verrückte Mission zusammengetan: Zwei Helis sollten zeitgleich durch ein und denselben Hochspannungsmasten fliegen – und zwar gleichzeitig von vorne und von der Seite! Kann das wirklich funktionieren?!

The pylons of 380 kV overhead power lines often have a rhomb shaped hole a couple of meters over the ground. The maximum diameter for flying through with an R/C helicopter is quite reasonable – but only if you manage to fly exactly through the middle!

Nicolas Kaiser from HeliGraphix SwissUnit teamed up with Tobias "2f2f" Wagner, and as you will expect, the task was truly insane: To push two helicopters through one and the same pylon – both from the front and from the side at the same time! Can this really work?!

Willkommen auf der "Insel des Wahns"! Heute auf dem Programm: Wir fliegen mit zwei Helis gleichzeitig … Welcome to the "Isle of Madness"! On the menu today: Flying through an overhead power line pylon …	… durch einen Hochspannungsmasten! Natürlich im Rückenflug rückwärts – wie sonst?! J … with two helis at the same time. Inverted backwards, of course – or did you expect anything else?! J
Alles oder nichts: Wird das Timing passen?! Ein Abbruch ist bei Maximal-Speed nicht möglich! It's all or nothing now! Will the timing work?! Flying at full throttle means there is no way …	Hart auf Kollisionskurs: Zehntel Sekunden entscheiden! Das ist Hochspannung im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes! … to break off the experiment! On a collision course: Fractions of a second are decisive!

DVD-Track #7 – Merry-Go-Round

Die Idee war einfach: Man lande mit einem Heli auf einer Reckstange, gebe negativ Pitch und "fliege" dann mit Nick vorwärts eine Felge vorlinks-vorwärts um die Stange herum. Während grundlegende Tests erfolgversprechend aussahen, riß es unseren T-Rex 600 von Freakware beim eigentlichen Stunt regelrecht in Fetzen. Weitere Versuche folgten, und erst nach und nach kristallisierte sich heraus, an welchen Stellen die Physik unerwartet zuschlagen konnte. Den mitunter entscheidenden Hinweis gab das Rotorkopfzentralstück, das während der Versuche mächtig heiß wurde ...

Da der Stunt über lange Zeit hinweg zunehmend undurchführbarer erschien, fassten wir nach dieser Erkenntnis neuen Mut und wagten einen allerletzten Versuch. Ist der Felgumschwung mit dem Heli am Ende doch möglich?

The idea was simple: Land your helicopter on a horizontal bar, apply negative pitch and then push it around the bar with forward elevator. While basic tests did look promising, our Freakware T-Rex 600 was literally torn to pieces when attempting the real stunt. Nobody was sure what had happened, so we had no choice but to continue and investigate the issue; it took some time until through a number of experiments we got a clue where physics had struck unexpectedly. One of the decisive discoveries had been that during the stunt the rotor head central piece had gotten quite hot ...

For a long time this stunt action became more and more unlikely to work. We decided that the latest findings justified one last attempt. So is the Merry-Go-Round stunt possible after all?

Hellman und Tobias "2f2f" Wagner nehmen eine außergewöhnliche Herausforderung an: Ist es … Hellman and Tobias "2f2f" Wagner take on an extraordinary challenge: Is it possible to land on …	… möglich, auf einer Reckstange zu landen, negative Pitch zu geben und sodann einen Vorwärts-Umschwung zu fliegen? … a horizontal bar, apply negative pitch and then fly a forward flip around it with forward cyclic?
Überrascht von der Vielschichtigkeit und Problemtiefe dieses Stunts starten wir eine ganze Test-Offensive. We were caught by surprise how many-facetted and extensive the associated problems are and thus started …	Ein hochinteressantes physikalisches Experiment mit unbekanntem Ausgang zum Mitfiebern! … a whole series of tests. A highly interesting physical study with unknown result begins!

DVD-Track #8 – The Skateboard Challenge

Womöglich die wahnsinnigste aller Aktionen: Was passiert, wenn man sich an einem 50er Heli festhält, auf ein Skateboard springt und Pitch gibt? Tobias "2f2f" Wagner und Steven-V haben es ausprobiert …

Maybe the most insane stunt of them all: What happens if you hold onto a 50-size R/C helicopter, jump onto a skateboard and apply pitch? Tobias "2f2f" Wagner and Steven-V took on the challenge and found out …

ACHTUNG! Dieser Stunt ist extrem gefährlich und darf unter keinen Umständen wiederholt werden! Einige Vorbereitung und medizinische Versorgung vor Ort war präsent, um diese Aktion sicher durchzuführen! Eltern haften für ihre Kinder!

DVD-Track #9 – The Long Goodbye

Einmal mehr kehrt HeliGraphix zurück nach Frankreich, um einen heiklen Stunt in die Realität umzusetzen – und zwar unter der Leitung unseres weltbekannten Partners Sergeji Stanikow! Er besetzt einen kleinen Landschaftsabschnitt und erklärt ihn zum Außenposten des Neuen Russischen Imperiums. Auf diese Weise würde das Experiment von russischem Grund und Boden aus gestartet. J

Ohne Pilot am Sender wird ein R/C-Hubschrauber innerhalb weniger Sekunden abstürzen. Die interessante Frage lautet nun aber: Wenn man den Schwerpunkt tiefer legt, Maximal-Pitch gibt und dann den Sender ausschaltet, was wird passieren?! Ausgestattet mit einem Peilsender sowie einer einprägsamen Nachricht des Neuen Russischen Imperiums sahen wir die Konstruktion in den französischen Abendhimmel verschwinden ...

Once more HeliGraphix returns to France for a delicate stunt – and no less than our Russian partner Sergeji Stanikow is in command! He occupies a small spot and declares it an outpost of the New Russian Empire. This way, the historical experiment would be launched from Russian ground. J

If you stop controlling your heli, it will crash within a few seconds. However, the very interesting question now is: If you lower the center of gravity, apply full pitch and then turn off the transmitter, what will happen?! Equipped with a radio beacon and a memorable message from the New Russian Empire, we watched the construction disappear into the French sky ...

Eine coole Truppe unter dem Kommando von Sergeji Stanikow ist mit viel Spaß und Eifer bei der Sache. A cool team under the command of Sergeji Stanikow. We had come to France in order to set another heli record.	Besser als James Bond: Die etwas seltsam anmutende Kon- struktion unter dem Heli ist mit einem Peilsender ausgerüstet. Better than James Bond: The somewhat strange construction under the skids of the heli is equipped with a radio beacon.
Abflug ins Ungewisse: Einmal mehr betreten wir technisches Neuland und definieren die Limits neu! Good bye or farewell? Once again we enter unknown territory, constantly pushing the limits!	Wie weit ist die Maschine geflogen, und was hat den Flug beendet? Hier sind wir schon gut 1 km unterwegs … How far has the heli flown and what terminated its flight? Here we are homing in – and have already walked more than 1 km!
